Curstillistas from throughout the Diocese are invited! Ultreya will be held at St. James on March 13 at 6:00 PM. There is a potluck dinner (bring food item of your choice) and drinks will be provided. St. Paul’s NewSong Group is organizing the music. What is the purpose of bake sales? The Women of St. James each year sponsor a scholarship for a graduating high school senior. The monies collected are for the scholarships as there is no money budgeted for them. It is strictly supported by YOU the St. James family. Please make plans to bake something that is special to you. Label it and suggest a sales price. Donations are always welcomed and for those of you who don’t bake but like to eat, then PLEASE buy, buy, buy or give, give, give.


Sunday, April 04, 2010, - St. James Family Promise ministry commitment
This is such a vital ministry, and we have had a wonderful response but can always use more volunteers. Many have said they received more than they have given to these families who have lost their homes and are trying to stay together, get jobs and their own housing. Our next commitment is the week of June 7. Sallie Smith, our dedicated coordinator and Family Promise liason, has many other special stories to tell about the gifts God has provided through this ministry. 2010 Diocesan Medical Mission to the Dominican Republic: Medical doctors, clergy and Spanish translators are needed for the upcoming medical mission, May 9-16, 2010 to the village of Batey Jalonga, Dominican Republic. Saturday, July 24, 2010, - Youth Pilgrimage to the Holy Land participants leave today
Participants will visit the City of David, walk through King Hezekiah’s Tunnel, see the Dead Sea Scrolls, go to the traditional site of the nativity, ride a boat on the Sea of Galilee, float in the Dead Sea and pray in the Garden of Gethsemane. The trip includes a meeting at the Peace Center with Palestinian youth from Bethlehem and folk dancing. Participants will be joined by George Carey, Lord Carey of Clifton and archbishop of Canterbury from 1991-2002, Lady Eileen Carey and the Rev. Canon John Peterson, Washington Cathedral’s first Canon for Global Justice and Reconciliation, for this unforgettable two-week journey.
