THE REVEREND DE FREEMAN, RECTOR
|
WELCOME!
I am delighted to have been called as Rector of this dynamic, loving and growing Episcopal parish, affectionately known as St. James, and I look forward to seeing where God will lead us together. It is my intention to build upon the previous leadership in proclaiming the good news and the joy found in the love of Christ. Whether you are just beginning your faith walk, or deepening a mature relationship with God, there is a place for you here and I invite you to join us. In His Joy, De Freeman + |
THE REVEREND FORBES SIRMON, ASSOC. PRIEST
|
Forbes Sirmon grew up in Mobile, Alabama and attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and School from K-12th grade. He spent most weekends and summers on the water from the Gulf of Mexico to the Bay, and the Delta. During that time he developed a love for fishing, particularly fly-fishing, and being in the outdoors.
Forbes received his undergraduate degree from the Mitchell School of Business at the University of South Alabama. Forbes began to hear a call to a life of ministry and began serving as a Youth Minister and Musician in church. While discerning a call to ordained ministry, Forbes and his wife, Haden, were married. A couple of years later the couple moved to Austin, Texas where Forbes received a Masters of Divinity degree from the Seminary of the Southwest. During that time their first daughter, Marion was born. After graduation he and Haden returned to our Diocese and Forbes began his curacy at St. Simon’s on the Sound. Shortly after arriving, a second daughter, Anne Haden, was born. |
