COMMUNITY OF HOPE INTERNATIONAL (COHI)
St. James has joined Community of Hope International, a Benedictine organization which will provide training and guidance for all of our ministries. This organization does not seek to replace our ministries, but to make us more efficient in how we use our resources. By doing this, we will be increasing our footprint within the community!
Our first meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 5th after our 9:30am service. In this meeting we will discuss a training schedule, and we encourage the entire congregation to attend. The training modules, in order, are:
Week 1: Benedictine Spirituality
Week 2: Theology of Pastoral Care
Week 3: Pastoral Identity
Week 4: Listening Skills
Week 5: Prayer, Christian Meditation, & Silence
Week 6: Motivational Spiritual Gifts
Week 7: The Pastor Visit & Boundaries
Week 8: Confidentiality, First Practice Visit, and Debriefing
Week 9: Understanding Family Systems
Week 10: Grief: Coping with Loss
Week 11: Pastoral Care for Seniors
Week 12: Second Practice Visit
Week 13: Care for the Caregiver
Week 14: Commitment to Ministry
Week 15: COHI Training Retreat
May everyone have a blessed and fruitful new year, and we are looking forward to seeing you at our meeting on February 5th!
Yours in Christ,
