June 2026 Update

Our Capital Campaign began in 2024 and continues to be a powerful expression of faith and generosity. We are deeply grateful for how our parishioners have supported our growth—expanding both our outreach into the community and our in-reach within the church.

The Palm Sunday building tours were a joyful success, giving many the chance to see the expansion up close. The most common question we heard was: Why not complete the second floor now? Over the past two years, our leadership has prayerfully weighed every decision. Rising construction costs required us to scale back in some areas, including postponing the second-floor buildout while still preparing the structure for it. But the need is now clear. Our school continues to thrive, serving as a vital outreach ministry and an important part of our church’s spiritual and financial sustainability. Demand is strong, and both parishioners and school families are calling for the full vision to be completed. Delaying further will only increase costs and disrupt both church and school life. For these reasons, the Vestry has approved moving forward with the full buildout.

Together, we have already raised an incredible $5.2 million. To complete the expansion and retire our debt, we need to raise an additional $2.5 million. This is an invitation to continue stepping forward in faith. This is an invitation - and a moment. What we do now will shape our church and school for generations.

If you have not yet made a pledge, it’s not too late to join this shared effort. If you have already pledged, we ask you to consider whether you might extend your generosity with an additional gift.

We are making wonderful progress—new covered entrances are nearly complete, the accessible church entry is taking shape, and the new building with classrooms, offices, and gathering spaces will be ready before long. As our bishop recently said, “If you want to see a sacrament in the real world, take a look at that building.” What we are building is more than a structure—it is a visible sign of grace for generations to come. It is a place where children will grow, families will be formed, and faith will take root.

We are asking every household to prayerfully consider a meaningful gift or pledge toward this final phase. Here’s how you can help:

  • Commit to a two-year pledge or increase the duration of your pledge
  • Make a one-time gift
  • Check with your financial advisor about options for contributing from your IRA
  • Purchase a commemorative paver in honor or memory of a loved one
  • Help furnish classrooms, offices, and meeting spaces
  • Support the annual “Second Saturday” Golf Tournament (Returning May 8, 2027)
  • Participate in the Zebedee Do-Da fundraiser this fall (Date TBD)
  • Invite your company to sponsor one of these events

Every gift makes a difference. This is sacred work, and each of us has the opportunity to be part of what God is building here. Contact our Finance Director with questions finance@stjamesfairhope.org
