Chamber Music Concert

Full of gentle, amiable music, the Mozart Horn Quintet has been compared to a miniature horn concerto: The horn is frequently given a starring role, introducing themes and dominating the ensemble, while the strings accompany it.

Elgar’s Sospiri, is a short work written in 1914 for strings, harp, and chamber organ. This small, expressive melodrama has emotional power, imaginative orchestration and, in general, has the hallmarks of the larger and more impressive pieces such as Elgar’s Cello Concerto and Second Symphony.

Glière’s Harp Concerto is known for its beautiful melodies, sweeping arpeggios, and rich harmonies that showcase the harp's versatility. The concerto often features a dialogue between the harp and the orchestra, with the harp taking a prominent role. The concerto blends classical and romantic elements with Russian folk influences.
