Whether you've attended church your whole life or you're walking through our doors for the very first time, we're glad you're here.

Our worship follows a pattern that Christians have shared for centuries: we gather, hear God's Word, pray together, share Holy Communion, and are sent out into the world to love and serve God and our neighbors. You don't need to know what to say or when to stand. Everything is printed in the service bulletin, and the people around you will be happy to help. Over time, the rhythm of worship becomes familiar and meaningful.

The Holy Eucharist

The principal service of the Episcopal Church is the Holy Eucharist, which means "thanksgiving." You may also hear it called Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper.

In the Eucharist, we remember Jesus' final meal with his disciples and celebrate God's presence with us today. We hear Scripture, pray together, give thanks, and gather at Christ's table to receive bread and wine.

The Liturgy of the Word

We begin by gathering as a community and praising God through prayer, music, and song. Several readings from the Bible are shared, including a Psalm and a reading from one of the Gospels. After the readings, the sermon helps connect God's Word to our daily lives.

The congregation then joins in affirming our faith through the Nicene Creed and offering prayers for the Church, the world, those in need, and those we love.

Before moving to Communion, we confess our sins and hear God's promise of forgiveness. We then exchange the Peace, greeting one another as a sign of Christ's love and reconciliation.

The Liturgy of the Table

The table is prepared, and we offer gifts of bread, wine, and ourselves to God. During the Eucharistic Prayer, we give thanks for God's work in creation, remember the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and ask the Holy Spirit to bless the gifts of bread and wine. The congregation joins in praying the Lord's Prayer before coming forward to receive Communion.

All Are Welcome

All are welcome to receive communion, no matter age or denomination. Episcopalians invite all people to receive, not because we take the Eucharist lightly, but because in God’s house, all are welcome. 

If you do not wish to receive Communion, you are warmly invited to come forward for a blessing by crossing your arms over your chest.

If you'd simply prefer to remain in your seat, that is perfectly fine too.
